Today we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, a public aquarium that has been involved in a variety of marine research projects that I’ve read about over the years.

Today, it topped sixty-five degrees for the first time in two weeks. After a morning of chores, I snuck away for the afternoon for some much-needed trail time. The late start meant I couldn’t drive far to hike, so I went to my favorite nearby standby: the Mesa Trail.

One of the things I find most appealing about road trips is that you can change your plans at any point. When we decided to leave Mexican Hat early, we revised our itinerary to accomodate a quick trip to Arches National Park.
