December Walks 1

I arrived in the UK a few days ago. Since then, I’ve experienced the usual challenges adjusting to the time difference. Despite my best attempts to establish regular sleeping hours, I’m unable to fall asleep until well past midnight. When I finally pass out, I sleep like a rock until well after noon the next day—just in time to watch the daylight fade to darkness. This dismal cycle is wreaking havoc on my productivity and my mood.

To soothe my jetlag, I’ve been taking long walks around Loughton and Great Holm.

It was the kind of weather that wilts flowers. The temperature climbed to ninety degrees and the air grew thick and soupy by mid-morning.
