We soon discovered that June is still winter in Yellowstone and that the colors of the geysers, so rich and rusty in summer, are quite muted at this time of year. There was still a lot of snow throughout the park.

I’ve been running a lot recently. I am not a good runner, I am not fast, and I do not derive easy pleasure from the sport. I find it to be painful on my joints, producing kinks in hips and ankles alike.

Rabbit Mountain has become my default hiking location. If I don’t have time to drive up into the mountains, then I go to the foothills to Rabbit Mountain where I can still get a leg-burner of a hike in a short period of time.
