About this time of year, I get antsy for the landscape to come to life. That’s why I try to time things so that I’m in the UK for February and March, because then I get to see the snowdrops and crocuses and primroses open up and my spirit is lifted at the time I need it most.

Settling In
I am in my new home and trying to settle in as quickly as possible after what turned out to be a tremenduosly stressful move involving a cranky buyer, creepy lawyer, and slippery real estate agent.

After several days of gloomy weather in Kapalua, we’re ready for some sunshine. We decide to visit Lahaina. We catch the shuttle bus from our hotel and travel southward along Honoapiilani Highway for a dozen miles or so.
