Simple

Recently, I’ve been looking in every direction for inspiration. Despite all efforts, I have found none. I cannot sit down to paint without getting distracted. I don’t want to write. Even if I wanted to write, I wouldn’t know what to say. I am repelled by every website I design. I don’t bother taking photographs anymore. I’m frustrated with everything. I’m wildly unproductive and I don’t know what to do about it.

But I must do something so for now I plan to get back to the basics. Like Eric Shiffman says (in his wonderful Yoga Mind & Body DVD), keep it simple.

I shall squeeze a few words from my pen here and there, like enticing toothpaste from an almost empty tube. Take a photograph, like blinking open an eye in the early morning sun. Dip a brush in water then pigment and drag it across paper. Make time for yoga and space for nature. Meditate … relax … go with the flow. Then maybe sometime soon inspiration will follow.

The weather forecaset was perfect today so I just had to take the day off. I’ve not been to Bear Lake in a while so I thought I’d hike the trails in that area today.
